Argyne
A specialized tool combining manual tradition with ergonomic safety.

problem
Small-scale cauliflower farmers suffer from severe musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and reduced productivity due to the awkward postures required by traditional manual tools.
solution
An ergonomically designed harvester that enables an upright working posture, featuring a V-shaped blade and rotatable handle to minimize strain and boost efficiency.
Developed through rigorous ergonomic validation (RULA, REBA, WERA), this tool eliminates deep bending via a V-shaped blade and rotatable handle, ensuring strain-free, damage-free harvesting.

The second prototype was created using 3D-printed handles, an iron rod, and an aluminium sculpted blade structure, ensuring both durability and lightweight performance. User testing showed significant improvements in posture, efficiency, and comfort. The new tool enabled users to maintain an upright stance, resulted in faster and cleaner cutting, and lowered ergonomic risk levels from high to low/medium in the comparative analysis (RULA, REBA, WERA)
